Busy Bees

So the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is starting to wear on this mama.  Two Christmas programs down, one to go, the hubby's birthday has been celebrated (luv ya hun!) relatives are flying into town in two days, work is extremely crazy right now, I haven't baked a thing (except a pan of fudge which I don't even know if it turned out), and I still have some Christmas shopping to do.  Did I mention that we are also in the process of buying a house right now?  And to top it all off, my husbands car bit the dust so any free time I have has been spent looking for a new vehicle.  I am exhausted!  I could barely keep my eyes open at the car dealership.  The poor salesman probably thought I was drunk.  Maybe that's why he wouldn't let me test drive the car... only kidding.

But despite all the stress and craziness that this Christmas season brings, it is still my favorite time of year.  There is nothing better than seeing the excitement on the girls eyes when they see the wrapped presents under the tree, visiting Santa, the crisp and cool air, twinkling lights, spending time with family, Christmas carols, rommegrot, (you haven't lived until you have tried this stuff, A-MA-ZING ), receiving Christmas cards in the mail, decorating the tree, worship, you get the gist.  I could go on and on.

So instead of focusing on the day to day stresses that lead up to this wonderful and blessed holiday, I am trying to be more reflective and to sit back and take in all that Christmas brings.  Not just the presents, but the moments, the smiles, the laughter. Family. Love. Peace.

May your Christmas season be filled with all these amazing moments and leave the stresses for another day.

Helloooo... Is anybody out there?

Ok, so here it is, my first official blog.  First, a little about Chasing Honeybees and why this all came about.  I will start with introducing myself.  I am Melissa, a mid-west mom who has been transplanted out to the east coast.  I am married to the most wonderful man whose calling as a pastor has brought our family of four out to the Philadelphia burbs on this crazy adventure called life.

The name Melissa means honeybee and I have been blessed with two of the most beautiful little girls.  As motherhood would have it, it seems that I am always chasing those two little ones around.  Thus the title began, however when I refer to my honeybees, I mean the cute little fuzzy ones that you can't help but be amazed at their adorableness.  (Is adorableness even a word?)  Not the nasty ones with the stingers.  I will be running the other way from those little buggers.

I am a believer, wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, coffee lover and employee who is trying to juggle it all in a brand new place.  So sit down and enjoy these musings from the hive as this family tries to figure it all out.
